Active vertically driven sound column, 20x 3.5″ speakers, 20 x 50W D-class amplifiers, 100-18000Hz, max. SPL: 96dB (A-weighted at 30m), 130° horizontal pattern 10° to 30° vertically, “digital” sound focusing, aluminum housing, 2070 x 125 x 97, 20 kg.
Column VSA 2050 is a vertically driven array with 20 50W class-D amplifiers and 20 3.5″ speakers. The RCF VSA sound column is capable of accurately directing sound into the listening area. Using proprietary RDNet software, the user can control the radiation pattern by controlling the width and tilt of the sound beam, which allows you to accurately sound the required spaces. This is implemented using an integrated DSP, which introduces micro-delays to the signals coming to different speakers. This is especially important in acoustically complex halls with high reverberation, where extra reflections from walls, floors or ceilings can be critical. The aluminum body of the column is ideally combined with any interior design solutions and can be painted in any color on request according to RAL. In addition to the standard mounting included in the kit, there is a hinged bracket that allows you to rotate the column in a horizontal plane. VSA columns are configured and controlled using RDNet software. A VSA-RC module is also available, which connects to a mobile phone and gives the user limited control functionality via the VSA REMOTE app.
HIGH PERFORMANCE SPEAKERS
Modern transducers designed for VSA columns exhibit high sound intelligibility and reproduce a wide frequency range, in line with the RCF philosophy, which can be summed up as “do without subwoofers where you can do without them”.
The 1.4 Tesla magnetic field induction created by the massive neodymium magnet is the most favorable for the speaker to reproduce the full spectrum of the midrange. The magnet is made of neodymium, so it is light enough to reduce the overall weight of the system.
ELECTRONICS
The performance DSP controls the amplifiers. The amplification circuit includes several levels of protection for safe operation.
FRAME
The extruded aluminum housing is durable, easy to assemble and blends well with any interior. Standard colors are white RAL 9003 and black RAL 9005. The housing can also be painted in a custom RAL color. The aluminum chassis allows for a modular approach to complex system design and dissipates heat evenly. The front grille is acoustically transparent and looks aesthetically pleasing. Installation is easy due to the presence of a template for drilling mounting holes and light weight. If necessary, you can fix the speaker system horizontally, additional fasteners are available for order.
CONNECTION PANEL
Connection connectors are located on the panel at the bottom of the column and are protected by a special plastic screen. Audio sources can be connected independently via the two balanced Priority and Aux inputs. The Priority connector is equipped with thermally fused ceramic terminals for trouble-free operation of the alarm system. The Data Link port allows control and monitoring using RDNet software, the Monitoring port for remote troubleshooting.
POWER PANEL
The power connectors are located at the top of the column and are protected by a plastic cover.
APPLICATION
Sounding of acoustically difficult rooms with high reverberation, such as:
- Railway stations and airports
- sports arenas
- Conference rooms
- Lecture rooms
- Churches and cathedrals
VSA SMART RC
In addition to the RD-Net software, which allows you to configure and control the system, there is a device for user control of the VSA-RC. This is an IR module that connects to a smartphone via the headphone jack and turns it into a VSA remote control (for this you need to download the VSA REMOTE application available for iOS or Android). With VSA-RC you can manage:
- Beam width and tilt angle
- Delay in meters
- Filters to optimize the sound of voice/music
- Polarity
- Sound mute
- Sound volume
- stand-by mode
The infrared reception sensor is recessed into the column body, due to which the signal reception is carried out in a very narrow range. Therefore, you can control the column only standing directly in front of it. Thanks to this, you can be sure: if two columns are located side by side, the user will not be able to control them at the same time.
NETWORK MANAGEMENT
The RCF RDNet software is a handy tool for configuring a VSA column based system at any site. The software allows you to manage the DSP settings of each individual column for efficient operation of the entire system.
Based on the secure RDNet network protocol, simple and intuitive control and monitoring of the entire RCF sound reinforcement system or one specific device is provided.
AUDIO CONTROL WINDOW
Two audio channels are available: the Priority channel, which, when the priority function is activated, takes priority over the AUX channel. DSP allows you to set a delay between different speakers or groups of speakers. The delay is set not in seconds, but in meters (from 0 to 99 meters in steps of 3 meters). Polarity (phase) control is useful for minimizing destructive interference depending on the particular speaker location.
DIRECT OR NETWORK CONTROL
Each VSA II column can be controlled separately directly from a PC using a USB to RS-485 converter. Or network control for two or more VSA columns is possible, which is organized using the Control2 or Control8 interfaces.
EQUALIZATION
You can choose from six equalizer presets, three of which are user-configurable.
- Flat – no equalization;
- Speech – equalization optimized for speech;
- Music – equalization optimized for music;
- Custom 1 – 2 – 3 – three user presets, eight filters are available for customization.
BEAM CONTROL
Three different VSA tuning modes are available.
EASY FOCUS MODE
A simple and quick way to set up for users with an initial level of training.
Only two parameters need to be known: the height of the column and the maximum size of the coverage area.
EASY BEAM MODE
For experienced installers. Allows you to change the width of the beam and the degree of its inclination.
FREE BEAM MODE
Allows you to designate the listening area to be covered by selecting the desired preset.
